Yamaha’s Star Motorcycles have unleashed a muscle bike with a toughened solid reputation for racing on the road. It’s the new V-Max concept motorbike that trickles a magnificent, savvy impression.

Its main features:

•the original power cruiser has a unique style, stance and look that’s all its own
•bulletproof shaft drive and heavy-duty components

Its engine bay runs a liquid-cooled 1198cc, DOHC 16-valve 70-degree V4, churning out hard-hitting road power for instant acceleration. It includes Yamaha’s signature “V-Boost” induction (a power-boosting variable intake system) which embeds robust fuel quantities into the cylinders via a servo-controlled butterfly valve estimated at 6000rpm. Four 35mm Mikuni downdraft carburetors ensure seamless, lightning-quick full-on throttle response. There are also specially designed high-lift camshafts and tempered crankshaft mated to a smooth-shifting five-speed transmission. It also offers hydraulically activated diaphragm-type clutch parts which deliver precise clutch handling and pull.

For the V-Max’s chassis and suspension, low-slung styling keeps the seat low for great handling incorporating dual 298mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a single 282mm rear disc brakes reel the Max in. Taut six-inch rear tires are mounted on solid disc wheel hooks up with the asphalt fro maximum control traction. Dual rear shocks feature four position rebound damping and an adjustable five-way spring-preload.

Additional features of the V-Max consists of underseat fuel tank that guides the bike’s weight balance while providing space for large-capacity airbags located above the carburetors, fuel reserve switch, fork seal guards, onyx with shift red flames accents on fuel tank, thickly padded seats and plush passenger saddle, handy centerstand and compact speedometer which offers easy readability of tripmeter/odometer, high beam, turn signal, low oil and low fuel indicator lights.

There are quite a few speculations that Star has made a decision to manufacture a new V-Max based upon the concept machine and it will be launched worldwide later this year as a 2008 model.

The V-Max will be the fastest motorcycle going in a straight line.

Sure enough, millions of people use motor scooters to meet their personal transportation needs. People have certainly recognized the economy and convenience of motor scooters for years. These two-wheeled putters can be a blast to ride as well as a highly attractive personal transportation.

But do you know that it’s eco-friendly too? According to a recent survey conducted by the International Communications Research company, the majority of Americans (in the range of 70%) are concerned about the environment and 80% feel the urgency for government officials to take action towards fossil fuel reduction and harmful CO2 gas emissions.

The research was commissioned by Piaggio Group Americas (based in Pontedera, Italy and is one of the world’s top two-wheel motor vehicle manufacturers) and listed a sample of 1,000 U.S. buyers last month. Here are the recent findings:

• Over 40% of respondents indicated that their concerns about global warming and climate change have escalated over the past 12 months.
• While respondents referenced numerous factors driving their environmental concerns, almost 20% specifically cited Al Gore's Academy-Award winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," as a source for increased awareness of the issue. Unusual weather patterns, including the relatively mild winter and increased violent storms such as hurricanes, prompted over 60% of respondents to take notice of the issue as well.

The survey also has promptly stated that motor scooters can alleviate traffic and emissions related problems in urban cities and developed areas. Sam Schwartz PLLC also noted that if scooters accounted for 20% of the vehicles in the area, the following result would annually reduce carbon dioxide air pollutants by over 26,000 toms per year, a decrease in fuel consumption, total savings in fuel and labor productivity and time savings of nearly 100 working hours per individual. Not bad at all. These two-wheelers certainly gained people’s newfound perspective for the urban highway.

Scooters offer a practical transportation option when taking short trips, commuting each day and running on errands. So mount proudly on your scooter with all its two-wheeled performance parts. It will benefit your road handling and the environment as well.
