Fuel Injected Motocross Bikes

Nowadays, fuel injected Motocross bikes deems typical among motorists. The change in its engine is quite swift, setting the trend for the street bike scene. Yes, fuel injected bikes are the next big thing.

Bikers can expect to see most motocross bikes switch from carburetion to fuel injection starting next year and will continue on advancements in the next couple of years. It will be an interesting take on fuel injected bikes swarming across the globe and how it affects motocross bike maintenance. The deadline for the target dates to fuel inject all scooters is now at hand.

These fuel injection systems are inexorably more complex to operate than carburetors. Changing the air and fuel ratio could be much simpler (and easier!) albeit it’s much more costly than one would realize versus swapping carburetor jets. In re-flashing an ECU that controls the fuel injection system, as is now done on many street bikes or using a piggyback system like the power commander, will become the means of "re-jetting" your motorcycle. Fuel injection systems on motocross bikes will have to be far sturdier than those found on street bikes given the nature of motocross itself. Save for speeding off the tracks anyway.

One of the more popular and best-selling motocross bikes in the United States alone is the Honda CRF450R which will likely to be fuel injected next year alongside Japanese motocross bikes which are fuel injected in production form within the next three years, according to sources. Honda bigwigs plan to make their bikes under the Honda umbrella to be fuel injected by 2010.

BMW Riders Hit the Dirt Trails

BMW’s XPLOR activity program is presenting its first ‘GS Ride” in Pine Barrens, New Jersey. XPLOR members have already filled the 75 available slots. The program constitutes free online registration and necessitates that the rider be a BMW owner and registers their BMW bikes VIN number as proof of ownership.

BMW fans and motorcycle enthusiasts who will participate in the program will have a great time. The XPLOR program was introduced last November and the plan is to spin the events around the United States to get the most out of the number of BMW riders and dealers who can participate.

Eye bonbons like BMW racers Jimmy Lewis and Nate Kern will also be on hand to offer expert instruction and educate riders to bolster their own riding capacities. GS riders have attracted more than 100 enthusiasts, some of them riding over 2,500 kilometers to participate in a weekend of dirt riding and generating camaraderie with fellow like-minded bikers.

Don’t miss out on BMW Motorrad’s various sponsored rides this year such as the Raw Hyde Adventures’ Adventure Challenge (based solely on the GS Challenge offered by BMW Motorrad in South Africa and takes place at Raw Hyde’s widespread enduro park in Castiac, California.

Spruce up those BMW parts on your BMW bikes and run along to Pine Barrens for that much needed riding edge.

The Headless Biker

It’s not some title to an action film but it becomes more real when it comes to fatal motorcycle accidents. You might think it’s some sort of sick joke that’s going around topped with bewilderment and hilarity. No, it’s not. Some biker seems to be rampaging on the streets of North Wales but it turns out that in an impact crash, he decapitated himself.

The North Wales Police has showcased a series of photographs that captured this headless torso showing his head with its eyes still open lying on a grass verge as part of its latest anti-speeding campaign. North Wales Police Chief Superintendent Geraint Anwyl elaborated succinctly that the head was torn off by the force of the impact crash. The biker’s oxygenated brain went scurrying down the road for 50 meters before he expires. It is one morbid vision when you think about it but it targets those road raging motorists to keep their acceleration on down low and drive more responsibly.

The horrific images were shown to the press and local authorities at a meeting to endorse road safety procedures instituted by the North Wales Police. Police Chief Richard Brunstrom stated that the excessive speed caused the accident.

According to Brunstrom, the photos opt to serve a purpose in initiating first dibs on good motoring. The images are there to make an impact on the general public on what to expect and what not to do when it comes to speeding off.

Brunstrom also confirmed that the identities of the victims were not given the details of a distinctive T-shirt worn by the motorcyclist emblazoned with the slogan: "Piss off and catch some real criminals".

There’s always been a fascination among riders when mounting a motorcycle (especially if you got spic and span wheels and rims to show it off) and blasting to full speed with the air streaking across tour face. I’m sure most bikers understand what it’s like to have a real good time on their bikes but not to the extent of acting upon gruesome crashes that makes rocketing off not worth it.

And yes, with the horrid images presented, Brunstrom promised that the next segment of the campaign would be a more pliable periphery with more education and less punishment.
